German football magazine Kicker reports that when Borussia Mönchengladbach and FC Bayern München face off in tonight’s ‘Top-Spiel’, 18-year-old attacking midfielder Gabriel Vidovic will not be in the FCB squad. Kicker journalist Georg Holzner claims it’s because the two clubs are in the process of arranging a loan deal for the teenage talent.
After a superb season for FCB II last year in which he picked up 31 goalscoring points, Bayern have been looking for a loan home for the youngster. Vidovic picked up an assist in Bayern’s 7-0 win over Bochum last weekend and was linked on loan during the week.

Kicker and German tabloid Sport Bild passed on a long list of interested parties both abroad and in the German second division. Bayern, however, reportedly prefer a loan spell in the top flight. After shaking off interest from Hertha, the record champions are finalizing a loan move to the West Prussian colts.

One of the potential stumbling blocks in the deal, the sources say, is Gladbach’s desire to build a purchase option into the contract. Bayern are said to be opposed to any potential for a phenomenon they believe could develop in the direction of Jamal Musiala.

The loan can still be granted as Gladbach are desperate for an economical way to increase their attack and can thus be persuaded to drop their pursuit of the call option. A one-year oloan could work very well for both clubs.
