CBDT extends due date to submit form 15CA / 15CB in manual format until THIS date

New Delhi: The Central Commission for Direct Taxes (CBDT) has granted further relaxation in electronic filing of 15CA and 15CB forms, a finance ministry statement said on Tuesday. It has now been decided to extend the aforementioned date to August 15 from the earlier deadline of July 15, he said. In accordance with the Income Tax Act 1961, it is mandatory to provide the 15CA and 15CB forms electronically. Currently, taxpayers upload the Form 15CA, along with the Certified Public Accountant’s Certificate in Form 15CB, if applicable, on the e-filing portal, before submitting the copy to the Authorized Dealer for any remittance to abroad.Also Read – Income Tax Department finds ₹ 300 crore of black silver after raids in Hyderabad

In view of the difficulties reported by taxpayers in the electronic filing of income tax forms 15CA / 15CB on the portal www. Incometax.gov.in, it was previously decided by CBDT that taxpayers can submit forms in manual format to the authorized dealer until July 15. In view of this, taxpayers can now submit said forms in manual format to authorized dealers until August 15. Authorized resellers are encouraged to accept these forms until Aug. 15 for the purpose of overseas remittances, the statement added. In accordance with the CBDT, a function will be provided on the new e-filing portal to upload these forms at a later date for the purpose of generating the document identification number.
