Pakistan Refinery Profits Surge More Than 9x in Q3FY22

KARACHI: Pakistan Refinery Limited (PRL) on Thursday announced a record 931% increase in net profit for the third quarter of this fiscal year on the back of increased sales.

In a statement to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company announced a net profit of 5.529 billion rupees for the quarter ended March 31, compared to 536.406 million rupees the previous year. PRL skipped any dividend for the relevant period.

Earnings per share were Rs8.78/share, compared to Re 0.85/share last year.

The company said its revenue for the quarter reached 51.753 billion rupees from 27.182 billion rupees a year earlier.

For the nine-month period ended March 31, the company announced a net profit of 5.415 billion rupees, compared to 621.480 million rupees from the same period last year. During this period, EPS was recorded at Rs8.60/share against Rs1.01/share.

Attack Petroleum quarterly profit jumps 206%

Attock Petroleum Limited (APL) reported a 206% increase in net profit for the quarter ended March 31, 2022, driven by higher sales and a lower tax provision.

In a statement to PSX, the company reported net profit of 4.637 billion rupees for the quarter, compared to 1.517 billion rupees in the same period a year earlier.

APL skipped any dividend for the third quarter of this fiscal year. However, it has already paid an interim cash dividend of Rs 15 per share for the nine-month period ending March 31.

Earnings per share (EPS) stood at Rs46.60/share, compared to Rs15.25/share last year.

The company said its revenue for the quarter reached 90.740 billion rupees from 53.599 billion rupees a year earlier.

For the nine-month period, the company announced a net profit of 11.246 billion rupees, compared to 3.664 billion rupees from the same period last year. During this period, EPS was recorded at Rs113/share, against Rs36.81/share.

National refinery profit drops 35% in Jan-March

National Refinery Limited (NRL) reported a 35% drop in net profit for the quarter ended March 31 due to an increase in its cost of sales and other expenses.

The company skipped any dividend for this period.

NRL said its revenue for the quarter reached 57.219 billion rupees, up from 52.232 billion rupees a year earlier. However, an increase in the cost of sales to Rs47.652 billion from Rs35.626 billion and other expenses decreased the profit margin, he said.

During this period, the company’s EPS was recorded at Rs45.93/share against Rs11.15/share.

Nestlé profits up 39% in three months

Nestle Pakistan Limited reported a 39% increase in net profit for the quarter ended March 31 on the back of increased sales.

In a statement to PSX, the company reported net profit of Rs4.452 billion for the relevant quarter, down from Rs3.209 million a year earlier. The company skipped any dividend for this period.

Earnings per share stood at Rs98.18/share, compared to Rs70.77/share last year.

The company said its revenue for the quarter reached 37.781 billion rupees from 32.333 billion rupees a year earlier.

The Company’s administrative and other expenses increased in the quarter compared to the same period last year.

Engro Corp announces Rs12 dividend/share

Engro Corporation announced a 0.80% increase in its quarterly net profit thanks to an increase in net sales.

In its consolidated statement to the PSX, the company reported net profit of 14.897 billion rupees for the quarter ended March 31, compared to 14.778 billion rupees the previous year.

The company has announced an interim cash dividend of Rs12 per share.

Earnings per share stood at Rs13.84/share, compared to Rs14.47/share last year.

The company said its revenue for the quarter reached 88.333 billion rupees from 70.866 billion rupees a year earlier. However, an increase in cost of sales to Rs61.115 billion from Rs46.050 billion reduced the profit margin.

The company’s other income reached 3.986 billion rupees during this period, compared to 2.438 billion rupees recorded during the same period last year.
