Police reports: wallet taken from jacket pocket, attempted bribery at Winnetka post office

These reports have been taken from the latest policy summaries provided by the services in our coverage area (Wilmette, Winnetka, Northfield, Kenilworth and Glencoe).

WILMETTE

October 20

• Jewelery worth approximately $4,000 was allegedly stolen from a home in the 3500 block of Forest Avenue. There was a real estate show at the house that day, according to the police report.

October 15

• A wallet was allegedly stolen from the jacket of a resident of the 3000 block of Glenview Road. Credit cards in the wallet were allegedly used to make fraudulent purchases totaling $5,691.

October 14

• Two bottles of alcohol and a collection of coins were allegedly stolen between October 10 and 13 from a business in the 1100 block of Wilmette Avenue.

October 11

• Money and clothing were allegedly stolen from a car between 3:00 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. near the Westmoreland Country Club paddle tennis courts.

October 6

• A car was reportedly broken into overnight in the 2000 block of Greenwood Avenue.

WINNETKA

October 7

• A car was allegedly stolen between noon and 1:20 p.m. near Oak and Chestnut streets.

October 6

• A resident’s information was allegedly used to fraudulently rent a vehicle between February 25 and September 25. 27. The declared loss is $3,231.

October 4

• Two homes in the 1300 block of Sunview Lane were reportedly broken into between October 1 and 4 and damage was reportedly done to the windows of both residences in order to gain entry.

GLENCOE

October 16

• Two safes containing personal items were allegedly stolen from a house in the 500 block of Oakdale Avenue.

October 15

• Two strangers allegedly had sex in a car parked in a resident’s driveway in the 400 block of Sheridan Road. Police located the vehicle, but the motorist fled and escaped police.

October 11

• An individual allegedly offered $1,000 to a post office employee for office supplies. The offer was reportedly declined and the incident was reported to the US Postal Inspection Service.

NORTH FIELD

October 13

• A laptop was allegedly stolen from a business in the 500 block of Frontage Road.

October 10

• Several bottles of liquor were allegedly stolen from Mariano’s, 1822 Willow Road.

KENILWORTH

No activity was reported between October 14 and 21
